Spectacular Crater Lake National Park is 25 miles from Chemult after the north entrance to the park opens in the summer.  This lake is one of the natural wonders of our planet, and attracts visitors from all over the world.

Dawson House has been fortunate to host many of those visitors from other countries, who add to the interest of our morning breakfast as a gathering of lively guests with interesting stories & conversations.

Hiking, Mountain Biking, Boating, Birdwatching, and High Mountain Lakes Fishing are all highly profiled in this area.

Cross Country Skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling are as close as the back door.  Our Walt Haring Sno Park has groomed and marked trails for easy access and safety.  Back country enthusiasts will find our area unparalleled in beauty; this is an underused, pristine wilderness that will delight your senses.
